This position is 100% remote so you can work anywhere in the world, although we are an immigration company so if you’d like to move to Canada we can make that happen!

Our Company

Immigrate is a software company automating and streamlining the Canadian immigration industry. It is a marketplace which allows companies and individuals to find Registered Canadian Immigration Consultants to help with a wide variety of immigration application processing by streamlining and automating the immigration application process.

Our goal is to help make Canadian immigration a one click process for all of our clients. Immigrate uses an online web portal to perform all aspects of the Canadian immigration process. 

Our headquarters is in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and we’re a fast growing company that has been doubling in size and revenue since 2018.

The Job

We’re looking to bring on a mid to senior level full stack developer to our small but growing team on a brand new greenfield project. You’ll be building UI’s, API’s, and database schemas using React, Laravel, and Postgres.

Being a fully remote development team we work totally asynchronously, meaning you must be great at self managing. We make use of tools that help enable async communication to manage our ongoing work for project management, documentation, and code reviews.

Your day-to-day

• Implement features and enhancements from our backlog from start to finish by yourself
• Review other developers code
• Documenting your work via wiki’s and GitHub issues
• Contribute to the long-term vision of our technology (via code style, best practices, platform adoption, etc)
• Work with designers/product to flesh out feature requirements
• Identify areas of the platform that need improvement, and create actionable plans for a path forward
• Fix issues in our legacy codebase while we finish our migration to our new platform

Requirements

• 3-5 years working as a full stack developer
• Proven experience being self-sufficient in a similar role
• Excellent written communication
• You take pride in your work
• You have a strong product sense
• Knowledgeable with designing performant databases

Nice to have

• Experience with our stack (Laravel/React)
• Experience with our legacy stack (node/vue)
• Proven leadership skills via mentorship to peers or other developers
